 Paul Horrocks was editor of the Manchester Evening News and editor in chief of MEN Media for over 12 years until Oct 2009.  He was at the MEN for 34 years and previously worked at the Daily Mail in Manchester .  His background is reporting and news investigations, and as MEN editor he introduced a successful multi-media convergence strategy .
 
 Now running his own PR and comms business , Essential Communications and Media , in Bury , Greater Manchester .  Paul was president of the Society of Editors in 2007 when the conference was held in Manchester and addressed by the head of MI5, he was a member of the Press Complaints Commission for four years , sat on the MOD DA Notice Committee , a non exec director on MIDAS , promoting jobs and investment in Greater Manchester , governor of the University of Bolton and a non exec on the NHS  Our Life , promoting health across the North West of England.  He is also a media trainer and speaker.
