A Society of Editors Service

 Peter Berry

I have twenty years experience in broadcast journalism, five in local radio and the latter 15 at Granada Television where my job title for the last eight years was News Editor. I was also a producer and presenter. I worked in the newsrooms at The Albert Dock in Liverpool and all of Granada's district offices. I entered the journalism profession following a one year diploma in radio journalism at Darlington College of Technology in the nineteen eighties. I left Granada in 2005 to pursue a career in academia. I teach media law on the NCTJ accredited journalism programme at Edge Hill University, I am now associate tutor there and at the University of Sheffield where I teach public affairs on the NCTJ accredited modules in journalism.  I am also an associate tutor at Manchester Metropolitan University teaching broadcast journalism.
